Course Reserves

Course reserves are supplementary materials (books in print, DVDs, and other physical items) provided by faculty or the Library in support of course curricula.  These materials are separated from the general collection and have restricted terms of use.

You can search for items on reserve using OneSearch. You can search by title, course number, or your professor's name.

Students may access reserve lists in their TITANium courses or may search the list directly from the Library CatalogOpens in new window . To check out a course reserve, provide the call number and your TitanCard at the Circulation Desk (1st floor, Library North).

Students may borrow up to three course reserves (including one feature-length movie) at one time. Reserve items may not generally be renewed, and borrowers must wait at least one hour or one day (depending on the loan period) before checking out the same item again.

Instructors may submit reserve requests via our online Course Reserves Request Form (below). Requests may include items from the Library’s collections, personal copies to be provided, or recommendations for purchase (within acquisition guidelines and budgetary limits). Personal copies must fall within fair-use exemptions to copyright law. See: Fair Use Checklist (PDF)PDF File .

For the convenience of your students, please add the Course Reserves block to your TITANium course(s).

Electronic materials (articles, e-books, audiovisual clips, etc.) can be uploaded or linked directly to TITANium. The Faculty Development CenterOpens in new window provides instruction on using TITANium’s features, and the Academic Technology CenterOpens in new window can provide hands-on assistance.

Please review our Course Reserves Guidelines for the types of material that may be placed on reserve.
