University Archives & Special Collections

UA&SC is the home of CSUF's history, rare book, antiquarian maps, and periodical collections, as well as its manuscript collections. Using the Collections

University Archives and Special Collections materials are non-circulating and may be viewed in our  Reading Room. The UA&SC Reading Room is open  Monday - Friday  [9:00 am - 12:00 pm | 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm] and Saturdays by appointment. Send us an email to request a Reading Room appointment or a virtual research consultation. We will respond within 24 hours of your email inquiry Monday - Thursday. Requests may take longer to process when submitted Friday - Sunday.

In order to provide you with quality service and to ensure the preservation of the collections we abide by our Community Guidelines.

U.S. Copyright Law applies to all materials in UA&SC and reproductions of materials may not be published in any form without written permission. Digital cameras and smart phones are permitted in the Reading Room, but only for use in accordance with our Copyright Guidelines.

Special Collections Instruction

In-person, synchronous and asynchronous online sessions are available to instruct your students on how to find and evaluate primary resources for course assignments and research papers. Please fill out the Library Instruction Request Form to schedule a session or contact the Archivist to make arrangements.
