University Library COVID-19 Updates and Resources

Check this page for updates on library services during the coronavirus pandemic. For general campus updates, please visit the CSUF Coronavirus Update page.

Beginning March 20th, the library will be suspending on-site services until further notice. This means that access to physical materials for checking out will be temporarily unavailable. CSU+ will also be unavailable during this time

The Virtual Pollak Library remains open for business. In fact our online offerings are growing. A number of vendors are loosening restrictions and temporarily opening up their online collections. To access these resources, visit our Temporary Access Databases list. All of our existing databases, our online guides, and our collection of nearly 1,000,000 ebooks are still available. If you are unable to find the ebook you are looking for in our collection, please visit our blog post on free ebook resources for more options.

We are continuing to offer instruction sessions and are assisting students virtually with research. The full array of research and reference support will continue through chat and other virtual formats. Chat will continue to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will still be able to contact the individual library faculty with whom you have been accustomed to working via email as all will continue to provide their services remotely.

Circulation services have been temporarily suspended beginning March 20. All due dates for currently checked out materials have been extended through August 31st. Please make use of our vast e-book collection during this time.

Research Center

The physical research center has suspended operations. However, virtual reference will still be available 24 hours a day. Visit our Get Help page for more information.

The Noon Time Talks have been postponed until next fall.

Both CSU+ and Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) will no longer be processing physical books until further notice. Article requests will still be processed, however there may be delays in fulfilling some requests.  All outstanding loans are extended through August 31, 2020.

Library Instruction

Following the directive from the President, in person Library instruction has ceased. All classes will be taught online using Zoom. You can still request an instruction session, but it will be conducted virtually.
