Each year since 1994, the Coordinating Council of Support Groups of California State Fullerton has presented a Volunteer of the Year award to a member of the Patrons of the Library nominated by the Board of Governors for outstanding service to the University. Nominees from other support groups are similarly honored. The City of Fullerton accompanies the award with a Certificate of Commendation.
