Patrons of Library Website
This month the Patrons of the Library launched their new
web site.
In it, the Patrons describe their work in supporting the Library through the
purchase of books, donations, revenues from photo-duplication services and
the book sale, and outreach. Community and University outreach has included
events that inform the University and the public about library holdings,
events that provide encouragement to qualified high school students, and a
book discussion group. An exciting lecture series titled Books from the
Basin: L.A. in Ink, featuring fiction and non-fiction authors from Southern
California, is scheduled for spring. (Details.)
The Patrons' site has an impressive list of publications by the Patrons and
a series of essays on Great Libraries of the World. Membership details and
an application form are also included on the site. Join us in celebrating
