Conversations with Scholars Spring Line-Up
In its fourth semester, the spring 2003 Conversations with Scholars
schedule is short but very sweet. Three award-winning CSUF faculty members
will present their research interests with a down-to-earth approach and
engage attendees in a fresh look at the possibilities in their disciplines.
From the outset, the primary aim of the Conversations with Scholars Lecture
Series was to provide students who have not yet declared a major with a look
into the research and career opportunities within each College. However,
this series has also offered students with a selected major, faculty, and
staff an occasion to hear and interact with these stellar professors – and
learn about fascinating research areas. From dinosaurs in California to
Global Positioning Systems to Shakespeare in the 21st Century, each session
captivates the audience’s attention and imagination.

Faculty wishing to
promote this stimulating series are encouraged to:
- Mention the
"Conversations with Scholars" events in classes –
especially freshman-level courses (contact Rachael Clemens x7543 for
flyers).
- Consider taking a
class to one of the presentations – a great opportunity to inquire
about the writing and review process, variety within disciplines,
research tools and experiences, etc.
Come join us!
