McConnell joined Pollak Library as an Assistant Librarian in October
2000 in a part-time position, with responsibilities in reference and
instruction. Beginning in January 2001 she assumed a full-time temporary
appointment. She holds an M.S.L.S from the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill and a Certificate in Advanced Study in Bibliographic
Instruction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned a B.A.
from Wellesley College, with a double major in Mathematics and English.
Prior to relocating to
California, Ms. McConnell was the Head of the Kleene Mathematics Library
at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition, she brings
experience from a previous position as a Regional Librarian for RMT,
Inc., an environmental engineering firm. Ms. McConnell’s husband,
Craig, also joined CSUF last fall as a faculty member in Liberal
Studies.
