This Fall, the Pollak Library will continue to offer graduate students limited, free document delivery through a commercial service called CARL UnCover. Registered graduate students can order up to 10 articles per semester through CARL, provided that articles are not owned by the Library and that the cost per article is under $50. Articles from CARL are faxed to a number of the recipient's choosing, usually in 24 hours or less. Over the last three semesters, more than 100 graduate students have participated in the program and have benefited from the rich collection, the speed of delivery, and the immediate access to the search-and-order feature of the CARL UnCover service. Graduate students from over 20 departments/programs have participated in the service. The top users are from Counseling, Kinesiology, Psychology, Speech Communication, Accounting, Biological Sciences, Foreign Languages and Literature, and History. To start using CARL UnCover, graduate students should bring their Titan ID Cards to
librarians at the Reference Desk (1st floor, north wing), where they will receive the
information necessary to establish an account. To gain access to CARL UnCover, go to the
Library's home page and choose "Find Articles & More." For more information
about the service, visit the CARL UnCover Program Web Site at: CARL UnCover continues to be available free of charge to faculty, as it has
been for a number of years. CARL UnCover is an article delivery service to complement
Interlibrary Loan. Faculty and students are welcome to continue using Interlibrary Loan to
order materials that are not owned by the Pollak Library. Now you can order materials from
a networked computer in your office or home by filling out an online form at: Jie Tian & Judy Ruttenberg |
