Proxy Borrowers for Faculty & Staff

About Proxy Borrowers

Full-time CSUF Faculty and Staff can designate a person as a proxy borrower to perform the following tasks at the Library on his/her account:

  • Check out library material
  • Pick up ILLiad material
  • Check out periodicals for a 24-hour loan
  • Gain access to the library account.  By authorizing another person to act as your Proxy Borrower, you are giving that person full access to your Library account. Therefore, you will be held responsible for all transactions involving the account, including replacement or repair costs and processing fees for materials checked out by the proxy. A special proxy card will be issued to the proxy borrower allowing the proxy to access the Faculty or Staff’s account to perform library transactions. Privileges are for the current semester only and may be extended by submitting a new registration form. Note: The proxy borrower MUST have both the proxy card and a picture ID to access the account at all times. If your proxy leaves CSUF or is no longer working for you, please notify Library Circulation Department at 714-278-5541 as soon as possible so the Library can terminate the proxy’s privileges. Proxy privileges will automatically expire at the end of each academic year.

How do I set-up a proxy account?

A full-time faculty or staff member can assign a person to his/her library circulation record by filling out a Proxy Borrower Registration Form, available at the Circulation Desk (1st Floor, Library South). Each faculty or staff member is limited to one proxy borrower on his/her circulation record and for a maximum term of one academic year.

Information Required for Proxy:

  • Faculty/Staff Information:

    • Name, Desired semester (fall or spring), Signature, University I.D.#, Date, and Campus Extension. Library circulation record must be in good standing (no overdue materials, blocks, or money owed).
  • Proxy Information:
    • Name, University I.D.#, address, phone

How do I check my current library status for proxy borrowers?

Online: At the Library home page, click on Library Catalog, then click on My Circ Record.

By phone: Call the Circulation Desk at 714-278-2721.

How do I terminate proxy privileges on my library account?

Proxy privileges will automatically expire at the end of each academic year.

To remove proxy borrowing authorization from your circulation record before the end of the academic year, notify Circulation Services in writing by campus mail (Library Circulation, PLS-150) or by e-mail to libcirc@fullerton.edu.
