Library Privileges

Privileges: CSUF Students, Faculty, & Staff

Library privileges are determined by the user’s affiliation with Cal State Fullerton.

CSUF users listed below have full access to all of the Library's resources on campus and remotely, including interlibrary loan. Please note that for non-CSUF community borrowers, library privileges do not include access to restricted services such as interlibrary loan, and remote access to databases.

  • CSUF undergraduate and graduate students
  • CSUF faculty and staff

    Privileges: Non-CSUF Students, Faculty, & Staff

    The following library users have full access to all of the Library's resources on campus only.

  • SJSU-SLIS students
  • Reciprocal borrowers
  • CSUF Alumni Association members
  • CSUF Extended Education students
  • Continuing Learning Experience (CLE) members
  • Patrons of the Library—limited interlibrary loan
  • Other special borrowers, including other CSU alumni-association, Art Alliance, Friends of the Arboretum, President’s Association, and Reading Educators Guild members, as well as qualifying Orange County teachers (excluding substitute teachers)

    Library Registration

    All prospective library patrons must register at the Circulation Desk (1st Floor, Library South) and activate their library cards prior to obtaining library privileges.

  • Patrons of the Library members

    Library Blocks

    Library blocks will automatically take effect and suspend further circulation transactions under the following conditions.

  • Outstanding fees or fines
  • Overdue books or recalls
  • Returned library mail for lack of current address Blocks will be lifted when all material is returned, all fines are paid in full, or a current address is provided.

    Registration or Transcript Holds

    Registration or transcript holds are submitted each term for students whose outstanding library bill totals $25 or more. Students will be notified of the impending hold and given an opportunity to clear their library bills before the hold is placed. Students who do not do so will have a registration hold placed against them and will be unable to register for the following term until the bill has been resolved. Graduating students will have holds placed against their transcripts until the bill has been resolved.

    Property Clearance (Campus Personnel Procedures/Policies)

    Property clearance will be signed only if all outstanding library bills are paid and all materials are returned. Library privileges will be terminated with a Property Clearance form signed by Circulation Services staff.
