How do I physically locate books in the library?

This page explains how to use the Library Catalog to find out where books are located in the library.

1. Use the Library Catalog to find a book.

How do I find books by topic?

2. When you find a book you want, click on the blue underlined title to view the full record.

3. Jot down Location and Call No. information, and be sure to check Status.

Example:
4th FL SOUTH PR6045.O72 Z474 1991 CHECK SHELVES

Click the blue underlined Location (4th FL SOUTH) to see a floor map.
CHECK SHELVES - Book should be on the shelf
LIB. USE ONLY - Book is on the shelf, but can't be checked out.
MISSING - Book is lost; you may request it from another library.
DUE [date] - Book is checked out; you may request it from another library.

4. Go to the location and use the call number to pinpoint the exact place of the book on the shelves.

5. If you have found an electronic book, the catalog will provide you with a link to access the book online.
