Pollak Library Collection Information

Instructional Media

The Curriculum Materials Center (CMC) owns instructional media that assist prospective teachers in K-12 lesson preparation. These resources are available in many formats such as filmstrips, slides, transparencies, charts, kits, games, videos, CDs, audiocassettes, and records (vinyl LPs).

The AV Section also contains materials in these same formats, but these materials are used for academic study.

How to search for instructional media:
To look for instructional media in the Library Catalog, on the Library Catalog home page click Select A Specific Collection to Search, then select Curriculum Materials Center Collection only. If you have no format preference, then simply do a Subject search (music), or Keyword search (world and geography).

If you want a specific format, do a Keyword search and include your format type as a term along with your Subject topic term (Aztecs and filmstrip).

You can also browse the shelves for instructional media. These curriculum planning aids are grouped together by subject, regardless of format. For example, in the N85 area (the call number for the subject of art), there will be charts, videos, kits, and slides, which all relate to art.
