Book Collection Contest Winners
The Patrons of the Library are pleased to announce the winners
of their 2007, the first annual, Student Book Collection
Contest.
Eligibility requirements included a
collection of at least 25 items based on a unifying principle or
theme. The emphasis was on books, but up to 10% of the
collection could consist of non-books items such as pamphlets,
periodicals, maps, manuscripts, photographs, etc. Applicants
were required to submit an essay describing their collection
plus a bibliographic listing.
Aaron Jamieson was the $500 first prize winner. His
specialty was books relating to the English language.
Ashley D. Larson won second prize based on a collection of books about Latin America.
The three third prize winners included Nicholas Enke, books of science fiction and fantasy, Jared Cupp, history of Greece and Rome, and Nathan Jackson, books dealing with Black history.
