How do I find books by topic?
This page describes
how to search the Pollak Library Catalog or 'Find Books' to find books by subject
or keyword.
1. Go to the
Library Catalog or 'Find Books'.
- The Library Catalog is listed under QUICK LINKS on the
library home page. 'Find Books' is under 'Research'.
2. Search by Subject if you have a broad topic
or know a specific Library of Congress subject heading.
- Examples:
- global warming
- Mandela, Nelson
- California politics and government
3. Search by Keyword, if you have a more specific topic or wish
to combine concepts.
- Examples:
- emergent readers
- personal computing and periodicals
- immigra* and women and United States
